Arithmetic Mean
Calculate the mean of a list of observations. Separate values with commas, spaces, semicolons, or newlines; all observations receive equal weight.
How to use Arithmetic Mean
- Enter or paste “Numbers”. Follow the separators and formatting described in the tool introduction.
- Select Calculate or Process. Review the result and any validation message before copying or downloading available output. Reset clears the result and restores the starting inputs.
Method & assumptions
Mean = sum of observations ÷ observation count.
Worked example
10, 20, 30 have mean 20.

Questions, answered
Are empty list entries treated as zero?
No. Delimiters separate actual values; enter an explicit 0 when an observation is zero. Up to 10,000 observations are supported.
Where does this calculation run?
It runs locally in your browser. Enter plain numbers without currency symbols or thousands separators; use the same currency and measurement units throughout unless a converter explicitly asks for units.
