JSON Pretty Printer

Parse genuine JSON and serialize it with a chosen indentation of 1–8 spaces. JSON is parsed, never evaluated. Comments and trailing commas are invalid. Duplicate keys keep their last value, numbers use JavaScript precision, and nesting is limited to 100 levels.

Inputs stay in this browser tab. Results are not saved.

How to use JSON Pretty Printer

  1. Enter or paste “JSON”. Follow the separators and formatting described in the tool introduction.
  2. Enter “Indent spaces (1–8)”, using the units and limits shown in its label.
  3. Select Calculate or Process. Review the result and any validation message before copying or downloading available output. Reset clears the result and restores the starting inputs.

Method & assumptions

JSON.parse → bounded-depth inspection → JSON.stringify with the selected indentation.

Results and projections are informational estimates, not financial, medical, legal, tax, or property advice. Check assumptions, units, rounding, and local requirements independently. Investment illustrations do not guarantee returns. Keep original files and check transformed output before use.

Questions, answered

Is this a JavaScript formatter?

No. It accepts JSON only, never executes code, and does not preserve duplicate keys, original number spellings, or arbitrary-precision numeric values.

Does this send my input to a server?

No. This engine processes input locally without network requests. The surrounding website may have its own analytics or scripts; avoid entering sensitive material on an untrusted site. Text fields accept at most 1,000,000 UTF-16 units unless a smaller field limit is stated.
