Video File Size Estimate
Estimate encoded video size from average video bitrate, audio bitrate, and duration. This models bitrate, not raw resolution or codec quality.
How to use Video File Size Estimate
- Enter “Video bitrate (Mbps)”, using the units and limits shown in its label.
- Enter “Audio bitrate (kbps)”, using the units and limits shown in its label.
- Enter “Duration (seconds)”, using the units and limits shown in its label.
- Select Calculate or Process. Review the result and any validation message before copying or downloading available output. Reset clears the result and restores the starting inputs.
Method & assumptions
Size MB = (video Mbps×1000 + audio kbps) × seconds / 8000.
Worked example
60 seconds at 8 Mbps video plus 128 kbps audio is about 60.96 MB.

Questions, answered
Why might the actual file differ?
Variable bitrate, extra streams, subtitles, metadata, and container overhead affect real size. MB here means 1,000,000 bytes.
Where does this calculation run?
It runs locally in your browser. Enter plain numbers without currency symbols or thousands separators; use the same currency and measurement units throughout unless a converter explicitly asks for units.
